About

OK so here I am

A lady in UK who likes to wear red frequently although not exclusively. I am a former blogger who ran out of inspiration and allowed life to get in the way of blogging. I write about life ….my life so it makes sense to actually have a life otherwise what do I have to write about.

Since my last blog I have met a lovely man (Owl), turned 50,  moved with my two youngest sons into a house that Owl and I fell in love with when we looked at it. Six months later we still have boxes that need to be sorted. Well it isn’t easy trying to condense three homes into one. A lot of memory lanes have been visited during this time.

Owl and I love living together although it has not been plain sailing, we don’t expect that. We have had a few ups and downs but mostly what we have are a great deal of love and laughs.

My youngest son Skater (17) lives with us and commutes daily to the town he has lived most of his life for his college course and also his friends and girlfriend of 18 months (Elf).

My next son Pug (21) has gone to University in Norwich this year. He has enjoyed his first term, and seems to be much more confident.

Second son Statto (22) is now in his final year of Uni in Guildford having spent a year doing work experience in Sheffield, he has just discovered that girls can be a good distraction. Eldest son Prodigal has now finished his degree and tells me he is excited about prospects for comedy writing for BBC. He is also in a Blues Band which is doing well. He and his long term girlfriend (Model) plan to make a life for themselves in London.

ps

Last spring Owl asked me to marry him ……that day is fast approaching 🙂

Update

A year after starting this blog, I am now married to Owl (1st March 2013) married life has had its ups and downs…..never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how our first year of marriage would go. Things have settled down and we are both working on a better year in 2014.

I began my first book which is now on hold while I consider a change in direction. It has been a considerable learning curve for someone who has only ever written short stories for friends.

Prodigal, almost 26, has decided to concentrate on his music, neither he or Model have found work in their chosen fields so both are working in retail, marking time until their opportunities come to fruition. I have been told that whilst they intend to stay together in the long term (they have been together 10 years) they don’t intend to get married until they are in their 30s. They are not likely to be giving me any grandchildren any time soon.

Statto, 23, graduated last summer, is now working in his dream job, watching and analysing soccer matches. He has embarked on a serious relationship with a very bubbly clever young lady who lives near to his work. (I would not be at all surprised if they were first to tie the knot.)

Pug, 22, decided that his Uni course in Norwich was not for him, he is now studying philosophy in Oxford which he is enjoying, he has also found himself an exotic girlfriend who I have yet to meet but they seem to be very happy together.

Skater now 18  is no longer with Elf , but he has been quite content to be single for 6 months, he is in no hurry to meet someone new. He is now in his second year of three studying creative media at college. He is more content with life at home now, not that he spends much time with us as he is out skateboarding as much as he can.

Another update July 2020

Having just read back over this page so much has changed.

I discovered 6 months into my second marriage that my second husband was an alcoholic. He had been drinking vodka behind my back while I was working. I stuck it out until January 2018 before moving in with my mother. She has MS and 18 months after moving in with her I became her carer as her mobility is now very poor.

Prodigal and Model are engaged and have a baby daughter. They moved to Brighton before our little Sunshine was born.

Statto and Teacher are now married and have a little boy our little Teddybear

Pug is living and working in Oxford

Skater has graduated from uni and now lives in Portsmouth with his girlfriend who he met at college.

Owl is living on his own in a studio flat. Not managing very well. He often declares his love for me saying that he will do anything to get me back. His love for alcohol exceeds anything else.
